The Glenside Fire Company and the Elkins Park Fire Company would like to warn area residents of a scam in which T-shirts are being offered for purchase via text messages.

From the Glenside Fire Company’s Facebook post:

We have received reports that people are being offered a discount on GFC t-shirts via text message. This is an internet scam not related to GFC and we would advise you not to click on the link provided by the text message.

Numerous fire departments across Pennsylvania have been experiencing similar scam attempts within the last 48 hours.

The Abington Fire Company was targeted in February.
