Glenside Celtic Soccer Club of Glenside is hosting a “Girls in Soccer Day” from 11:00am – 1:00pm on Saturday, March 28 at Penn State Abington’s turf field.
The inaugural event is intended to support and promote girls in soccer and is being held in partnership with Penn State Abington.
“While soccer is one of the most popular youth sports in the U.S., participation still skews more toward boys when looking at total numbers: male players made up about 60% of outdoor soccer participants, with females around 40% in one national report,” noted Brian Kenney, Glenside Celtic Soccer Club’s communications director. “It should be a great inaugural event and shows Glenside Celtic Soccer’s commitment to supporting the community and youth, especially girls, in sports.”
The free event is open to all girls born 2018 or earlier. Pre-registration is required at
