Girls on the Run Southeastern Suburban PA, a Fort Washington-based nonprofit, was featured by 6ABC for their recent 5K race.

“Girls on the Run (GOTR)…works with girls in third through eighth grade, and we serve them in the afterschool space. Two times a week, we teach lessons on confidence, character and setting goals focused on movement,” said Executive Director, Evaleen Demarco of GOTR Southeastern Suburban PA.

According to the organization’s website, Ancillae Assumpta Academy in Wyncote (Cheltenham Township) hosts runs for the school’s girls on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:00pm – 4:00pm. Elementary schools in Elkins Park, Huntingdon Valley and Willow Grove are participants as well.
