For the first time in program history, the La Salle College High School boys’ golf team took home the PIAA Boys Class 3A Team Golf Championship.
The Explorers earned the title over State College on Wednesday on the second playoff hole at Penn State Golf Courses’ White Course.
“The team was led by Liam Littleton and AJ Cifra both shooting 3-under. Ben Robbins and Lucas Nye shot 1-under. Ethan Starkey was our final score shooting +2 on the day. The team totaled -8 (280) to tie State College HS after 18 holes,” the school said in a post. “In a sudden victory aggregate playoff that went two holes, all four Explorers made a birdie to shoot -4 in the playoff to win the championship.”

In related news, swimming & diving head coach Stephen Duncheskie, a 1994 alum, has been selected as the 2025-2026 NFHS/Pennsylvania Boys’ Swimming & Diving Coach of the Year.
“The La Salle Community extends sincere congratulations to Coach Duncheskie on this distinguished honor,” the school said in a post. “The recognition highlights exceptional leadership and the sustained excellence of the Boys’ Swimming & Diving program during the 2025–2026 school year.”
