Cheltenham Township announced that they will continue to honor the free parking on Saturdays to help increase business in the community. This includes meters on the streets and kiosks in the municipal parking lots.

The question is; “Does this really benefit the Glenside community?”.  Many merchants replied that no one really knows about the free parking on Saturdays and and therefore still put money in the meters. Mainline Baskets on Easton Road  and Rocky’s Restaurant on Glenside Avenue, wish the township would take a look at what Ambler did to address the parking in their borough area. In Ambler, the municipality has signs on every meter and larger signs in parking lots, all indicating when and where parking is free of charge. The borough has free parking available all day Sunday, weekdays from 12-2 p.m , 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. and all of December to January 3rd. The latter part is to attract more holiday shoppers.
