The Cheltenham area will soon be home to two familiar fast-food franchises: Five Guys and Chik-fil-A.
According to Scott Lynch, Cheltenham Township’s Fire Marshal and Director of Building & Codes, both restaurants will be in Cedarbrook Plaza and are about six months away from opening.
“Five Guys’ plans were submitted, and there was some demolition done in the suite they’re working on,” Lynch said. “It’s already an existing space. They’ve gotten through the zoning process and plans submission process. They’re doing everything properly.”
The Chik-fil-A is planning to open at the site of the former Golden Corral Buffet & Grill, 3001 W. Cheltenham Avenue.
“They’re tearing that building down now to build a different style drive thru. They’ve been before the planning commission and the zoning commission,” Lynch said. “They’re very close to getting started. That’s going to be coming soon, too. Sometime in the next six months.”
