While technology connects us now more than ever, many people report feeling more isolated. Enter the Mattering Summit, where the purpose is to spark a global awakening to the power of mattering—within ourselves, between one another, and around the world. This summit features experts in the areas of psychology, education and executive leadership who will focus on the following areas:
- Mattering to Self—Providing tools to help individuals recognize their own significance, cultivate inner worth, and practice self-compassion
- Mattering to Others—Highlighting the role of social connection for thriving. This area focuses on kindness, empathy, communication, gratitude, belonging, and the power of reaching out.
- Mattering in Society—Offering examples of how institutions, workplaces, schools, and public spaces build cultures of mattering.

The Mattering Summit is co-chaired by Rice and Emiliya Zhivotovskaya, CEO and founder of The Flourishing Center. They invite people to take part in the Mattering Summit in order to learn, reflect, collaborate, and take action in ways that create real-world ripples of connection and change.
“A society thrives when people feel valued,” said Rice. “Mattering isn’t just personal—it’s the foundation for a healthier world.”
