Elkins Park Skywatchers will host an observation for the lunar eclipse on Thursday, August 27 at High School Park in Cheltenham Township.

The eclipse will be most viewable between 10:07pm and 11:52pm, organizers said.

“An eclipse is more than something we see in the sky. It’s a moment that brings a community together to look up, wonder, and share the experience,” Skywatchers organizer Hector Ybe said. “We’re excited to invite our community to join us under the night sky and experience this beautiful lunar event together!”

Ybe noted that the Skywatchers are using the viewing as a preview for their upcoming International Observe the Moon Night on September 19. The event will include multiple telescopes, an official NASA participation certificate, music, activities, raffles, and a chance to meet fellow astronomy clubs and space lovers.
