The Elkins Park Fire Company announced that it has received a $5,000 donation from the Philadelphia Second Alarmers to help offset equipment costs sustained during the fire at SPS Technologies in Jenkintown.

The company also recognized member Derek Wiley for the donation and for his volunteer service to both the Elkins Park Fire Company and the Second Alarmers.

“This gesture truly shows the value that has been at the core of the Second Alarmers for decades – the spirit of ‘taking care of those who take care of the public,'” the post said.
