Elkins Park fifth-grader qualifies for state skiing championships, sixth-grader qualifies for Junior Olympics swimming events

Jack Dalton, a fifth-grade student at Elkins Park School and a member of the Jack Frost/Big Boulder Race Team, has qualified for the state skiing championships.

According to the team’s website, Dalton ended his regular ski race season at the U12 Giant Slalom at Camelback with the fastest second run for the boys with a 42.96.

His finish earned him first place for the U12 Eastern PA region and the title “Mr. GS of Camelback”, the website said.

“We are EP proud of Jack and his teammates. We wish them luck in the upcoming racing!” the school said in a social media post.

In related news, Gabe Little, a sixth-grade student at Elkins Park School, has qualified for the Middle Atlantic Junior Olympics’ 100-year breaststroke event at Franklin and Marshall College (Lancaster, Pa) on March 15, 16, and 17.

He will then move on to the Middle Atlantic Silver Champs’ to swim the 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard events.

“Sending all the best wishes to Gabe and his team. Wishing you lots of success! We’re all cheering him on! Go Gabe!” the school said in a social media post.
