Several greater Glenside Eagle Scouts and members of Pack 802 of Huntingdon Valley (Lower Moreland Township) were featured on Sunday by Lifestyles Magazine.
Ayden Kobryn, a state-qualifying swimmer and EMT school student, was highlighted for completing his Eagle Scout project at Cranaleith Spiritual Center (13475 Proctor Road, Philadelphia).
According to the story, Kobryn, 17, constructed the Thuja Memorial Kiosk which features 63 plaques. Home Depot donated most of the wood, concrete, shingles and other material for the project.
Matt Morgan, a former member of a Cub Scout Pack in Cheltenham, removed and replaced 100 feet of fencing at Pennypack Environmental Center in Northeast Philadelphia for his Eagle Scout project.
Tommy Keaton, a senior at Lower Moreland High School, improved the playground and garden at Pennypack Preschool to earn Eagle Scout honors. His dad, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and cousins have been in Scouts, Lifestyles Magazine said.
Jonathan Wilson, a rising freshman at Lower Moreland, is currently one rank away from achieving Eagle Scout. He is installing an informative kiosk on a trail on the Delaware Canal in Washington Crossing for his service project.
Boy Scouts Pack 802, chartered in 1941, is now 18 members strong and has produced more than 100 Eagle Scouts during its history,Lifestyles Magazine said. The troop has been chartered by Gloria Dei Church since 2010 and is led by scoutmaster Don Murtha and chairman Mike Garvey, each of whom have sons who became Eagle Scouts with Pack 802.
