Detective Rick Beaghley retires from Abington PD

Detective Rick Beaghley was recently honored by family, friends, and colleagues for his retirement from the Abington Police Department after 26 years of service. Beaghley will go on to serve as a Montgomery County Detective.

Beaghley has been the recipient of numerous official departmental commendations for his police work and investigations over the years. Many of these commendations were among the highest level awarded, including the Montgomery County Chief’s Heroism Award (2002).

Beaghley’s official retirement date is Friday, October 23. His tenure with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office begins October 24.

“On behalf of all the men and women of the Abington Township Police Department, I want to wish Rick, his wife, Christine, and the rest of the Beaghley family health and prosperity in the future,” Abington Chief of Police Patrick Molloy said. “May God protect Detective Beaghley as he continues to protect and serve the citizens of Montgomery County.”
