Cheltenham Township recently announced that it is looking to fill the open positions of Parks and Recreation Director and Recreation Program Coordinator.
The new Parks and Recreation Director will replace the outgoing Fabien Desrouleaux, who started the role in late 2022. The Recreation Program Coordinator position was formerly held by Kelly Rebitz, who served the role for more than 15 years.
Rebitz is still employed with the Township as the de facto Program Coordinator for the time being.
“Parks and Rec will continue to function as normal,” Rebitz said. “We’re working on some fall events, and we’re planning to hold a smaller event in place of the annual Harvest Fest, which will take place on Saturday, October 14. Our Hayride and Bonfire is going to be held on November 3. We’re also working on a repeat of the Halloween event, one of which will take place outside of the La Mott Community Center on October 28, and another outside of Roland Community Center on October 29.”
“The last time we had a Harvest Fest, we had six full-time staff members. We just don’t have the manpower we used to have to hold an event like that,” Rebitz said.
Residents can check the Township’s website for updated information regarding the events. Details may change going forward.
We are looking into the cause of the sudden shift in personnel. We will be in touch with updates as they become available. From the Director’s description:
The starting salary range for this position is $90,000 to $110,000, negotiable for the right candidate. Cheltenham Township offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and a generous defined contribution pension plan with 457(b) option.
