Dense Fog and High Winds Warning That Could Effect Your Commute

The National Weather Service has issued an urgent warning at 4:32 a.m. this morning for dense fog and high winds, causing low visibility, difficult driving conditions, down trees and power lines.

The dense fog warning will effect your morning commute with visibilities of a 1/4 mile or less at times. This should pass by mid morning. Southwest winds will then develop of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 35 mph at times. In the afternoon we will then see a shift to west-northeast winds of 20-30 mph with gusts of up to 60 mph. These winds will bring a cold front, showers and possible thunderstorms this afternoon and will gradually diminish in the early evening.

The National Weather Service is warning the public that these winds can blow down trees and power lines which can also cause power outages and property damage. Travel will be difficult later this afternoon, due to the thunderstorms and high winds.
