Courthouse Annex in Willow Grove collecting back-to-school donations until Aug. 23

The Courthouse Annex at 102 York Road in Willow Grove has been named one of the satellite sites for a back-to-school donation drive on behalf of Montgomery County’s Health and Human Services Department.

The drive will collect backpacks, binders, pencils, and more for families in need. The drive began on July 25 and will continue through August 23. Donations will be collected in a drop box at the Willow Grove facility.

Montgomery County will sponsor Norristown Area School District during this year’s drive. The county provided school supplies to more than 700 students during last year’s drive.

“As our K-12 students in Montgomery County begin their new school year, they need the right tools to succeed,” said Jamila H. Winder, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “As a product of the Norristown Area School District, I’m grateful to our County employees and community members for contributing to this back-to-school drive, so students walking the same halls I once did will be prepared for a new year of learning.”

“We are so very thankful and appreciate that Montgomery County, under the leadership of Commissioner Winder, will sponsor the Norristown Area School District this year with their Back to School Drive,” said Christopher T. Dormer, NASD’s Superintendent of Schools. “The opening of school each year is an exciting time for students, families, and staff.  Helping ensure our children will have the right tools to support their educational journey this year will allow each and every student to start the school year with confidence and enthusiasm.”
