Cheltenham Township’s longtime Director of Planning and Zoning steps down for new role in Towamencin

Henry Sekawungu, Cheltenham Township’s longtime Director of Planning and Zoning, performed his last day on Friday, March 27.

A staff member since 2014, he was presented with a Certificate of Meritorious Service during the township’s March 18 meeting at Elkins Park’s Curtis Hall. You can listen to congratulatory remarks from the board in the meeting’s recording below:

Sekawangu will serve as Towamencin Township’s new Director of Planning, Zoning and Code Enforcement.

His resume includes over 30 years of total local government experience, including a stint as Assistant Director of Planning and Municipal Development for Norristown. He has a bachelor’s degree in business from Messiah College and a master’s degree in economic development from Eastern University.
