Cheltenham Township released the PowerPoint presentation and the recording from the Facilities Study meeting on Thursday, November 16.
A vote for action was on the agenda but did not happen.
The presentation is divided into three parts:
- Summary of Four Options Proposed and Cost Estimates
- Impact of Costs on Township Taxes (Worst Case Scenario)
- Pros and Cons of Consolidation vs. Improving Status Quo
“Option A”: Wall Park & Breyer Site is projected to cost $66,200,000 – $90,600,000, plus an unnamed cost for a replacement soccer field.
“Option B”: Tyler Site & John Russell Park is projected to cost $75,050,000 – $96,300,000, plus an unnamed cost for property acquisition.
“Option C”: Tyler Site & Breyer Site is projected to cost $70,500,000 – $92,900,000, plus an unnamed cost for property acquisition.
“Option D”: Breyer Site & Existing Community Centers is projected to cost $50,100,000 – $67,300,000, but does not include programmatic needs for the libraries, pools or community center.
Each option includes a new Township Administration Building, a new library, community center, gymnasium, and an indoor pool complex, among other changes.
The “Worst Case Scenario” includes a series of investments and divestments and is estimated to have a 5% annual tax increase on the average Cheltenham Township residential property over 9 years.
The presentation concludes with rationales for consolidating the Township’s facilities. The full presentation can be found below:
