Abington Township, Cheltenham Township, Rockledge Borough and the Borough of Hatboro have declared Snow Emergencies ahead of this weekend’s forecast.

Cheltenham’s Snow Emergency begins Saturday, January 24 at 12:00am and ends at 11:59pm on Monday, January 26.

Officials said that parked cars must be removed from the Snow Emergency Routes listed below:

  • Ashbourne Rd. (Tookany Creek Pkwy to Washington Ln.)
  • Easton Rd. (Cheltenham Ave. to Mt. Carmel Ave.)
  • Cedar Rd. (Church Rd. to Township Line Rd.)
  • Central Ave. (Ashbourne Rd. to Township Line Rd.)
  • Church Rd. (Falcon Dr. to Township Line Rd.)
  • Greenwood Ave. (Township Line Rd. to Cheltenham Ave.)
  • Limekiln Pk. (Mt. Carmel Ave. to Easton Rd.)
  • Mt. Carmel Ave. (Limekiln Pk. to East Rd., west side)
  • New Second St. (Cheltenham Ave. to Township Line Rd.)
  • Oak Lane Rd. (Cheltenham Ave. to Ashbourne Rd.)
  • Tookany Creek Pkwy. (New Second St. to Cheltenham Ave.)
  • Township Line Rd. (Washington Ln. to Greenwood Ave.)
  • Washington Ln. (Township Line Rd. to Cheltenham Ave.)

Residents are asked to assist with plowing by parking in driveways whenever possible and “when driveways are not possible, park all vehicles on the same side of the street. Remove basketball hoops and any other obstructions that will interfere with plows.”

Trash collection is cancelled for Monday, January 26 and all collections will be pushed back a day. January 30 special collections are cancelled as well.

Rockledge Borough

Rockledge Borough has declared a Snow Emergency from 11:30pm on Saturday, January 24 until 12:00am on Tuesday, January 27.

During the Snow Emergency parking is prohibited on designated Snow Emergency Routes (Huntingdon Pike, Fox Chase Road, and Church Road). Vehicles parked on these routes may be ticketed and towed.

Side street parking is permitted, though residents with driveways are strongly encouraged to use their driveways to assist plow operations and maintain emergency access.

Hatboro Borough

Hatboro’s Snow Emergency begins at 6:00pm on Saturday, January 24 and ends Tuesday morning.

Residents are asked to remove all vehicles from the following snow emergency routes:

  • Byberry Avenue from South York Road to East of the Borough line (Warminster Road)
  • County Line Road, East from North York Road to North Warminster Road.
  • County Line Road, West from North York Road to West Borough line.
  • Horsham Road from South York Road to West Borough line (Continental Road)
  • Jacksonville Road from East Moreland Avenue to East County Line Road
  • Montgomery Avenue, East from York Road to Jacksonville Road
  • Moreland Avenue, West from York Road to West Borough line
  • Moreland Avenue, East from York Road to Jacksonville Road
  • Penn Street, South from Byberry Avenue to East Moreland Avenue
  • Warminster Road, South from Mill Road to East Moreland Avenue
  • Warminster Road, North from East Moreland Avenue to East County Line Road
  • York Road from South of Borough Line to Moreland Avenue
  • York Road, North from Moreland Avenue to County Line Road

Springfield Township

Parking Restrictions

During a winter weather advisory or snow emergency, all vehicles must be removed from streets and roadways whenever possible. Residents with access to garages, driveways, or other off-street parking are required to use them.

Residents without off-street parking may park on the street only on the EVEN-numbered side of the street, as 2026 is an even-numbered year. Where permanent parking restrictions exist, those restrictions will remain in effect.

Whenever snowfall reaches three inches or more in Springfield Township, or if the City of Philadelphia declares a Highway Snow Emergency, all on-street parking throughout the Township is prohibited.

Residents are encouraged to assist neighbors who lack off-street parking by offering driveway space when possible to help crews clear streets more effectively.
