Cheltenham to elect Board President, Vice President on Tuesday

The Cheltenham Township Board of Commissioners will hold elections for the Board President and Vice President during a reorganization meeting on Tuesday, January 3 at 7:30pm.

Incumbent President Daniel B. Norris, a Ward 5 Board member since 2011, was first elected in 2018. He currently serves as the liaison to the School Board, the Chairperson of the Finance Committee and the Pension Board, the Treasurer of the Friends of Elkins Park Library, sits on the Finance Committee of Beth Sholom Congregation, and is a Democratic Committee person. 

Incumbent Vice President Baron Holland, a Ward 2 Board member since 2015, will not be seeking reelection.

The meeting will additionally include the following appointments:

  • Edward Diasio as Township Solicitor and Special Counsel for Tax Appeals for a one-year period;
  • Gannett Fleming as Township Engineer for a one-year period;
  • McMahon as Township Traffic Engineer for a one-year period;
  • Eckert Seamans as Township Labor Attorney for a one-year period;
  • Grim, Biehn, and Thatcher as Solicitor to the Civil Service Commission for a one-year
  • period;
  • John Hosbach as Township Arborist for a one-year period;
  • Kilkenny Law as Zoning Hearing Board Solicitor for a one-year term;
  • Zelenkofske Axelrod, LLC (ZA) as Township Auditor for a one-year term;
  • McCarthy and Company, PC as Tax Auditor for a one-year term;
  • Arcadis as Stormwater Management Advisor for a one-year term.
