Cheltenham schools anticipate snow day on Jan 6

Cheltenham School District superintendent Dr. Brian W. Scriven announced today that a “traditional snow day” will be implemented on Monday, January 6 if the forecast for this weekend holds.

Families will be notified by 5:00am on Monday via email, text message, phone call, our district website, and social media channels, Dr. Scriven said in an email.

From the announcement:

As we continue to monitor the impending snow storm forecasted to arrive early Monday morning, our priority remains the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families.

If the storm delivers as predicted, the Cheltenham School District will implement a traditional snow day, resulting in the closure of all schools and buildings on Monday, January 6, 2025. This means no virtual learning or school-related activities will take place.

We will make an official decision and notify families by 5 a.m. Monday via email, text message, phone call, our district website, and social media channels.

We encourage families to begin preparing now for the possibility of a snow day. Please continue to monitor weather updates and communications from the district throughout the weekend.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety during this weather event.
