Jenkintown PBA responds to borough’s investigation into hostility/misconduct, vote of ‘no confidence’

The Jenkintown Police Benevolent Association (PBA) issued a response to the borough’s investigation into allegations of a hostile work environment within the police department and an alleged vote of “no confidence” in Chief Thomas Scott.

The results of the investigation were released on Monday and found no fault with the performance of Chief Scott and that “no hostile work environment exists.”

The Association submitted the following statement to Glenside Local:

The PBA is aware of the results of the “investigation” that was commissioned by the Borough. The PBA disagrees with the findings and maintains its position: a vote was taken and it resulted in a unanimous vote, no confidence, at the time it was taken, September 2024.

The JPBA wishes to continue to repair the working relationship between officers, Chief Scott, and Borough administration, something that’s been in progress since the settlement of the new collective bargaining agreement. We do not wish to look backward but will continue to move forward and strive to provide the residents of Jenkintown the best police service we can.
