Cheltenham police welcome new officer, MontCo police academy valedictorian

The Cheltenham Township Police Department recently announced the addition of Officer Max Bernstein who graduated from the Montgomery County Municipal Police Academy last week.

According to the Department, Officer Bernstein distinguished himself during the 919-hours of intensive training and was appointed class 23-02’s Staff Sergeant. He scored an overall average of 97% in the program’s 26 testing areas and was honored as class valedictorian.

Officer Bernstein will go through the Department’s field training program and expects to be on the streets of Cheltenham by late January 2024.

Bernstein’s father is Massachusetts State Police Lieutenant Eric Bernstein.
