Genevieve Tarlo, a 2016 Cheltenham High School graduate, married Hugh Sharkey, a 2015 graduate of Cheltenham High School, on Friday, April 4 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Jenkintown.

The newlyweds attended Temple University and met in November 2019. Their wedding ceremony was followed by a reception at the Pen Ryn Estate in Bensalem on the banks of the Delaware River.

Sharkey’s mother, Kathleen McCool, graduated from Cheltenham High School in 1979, and his father Hugh Sharkey, Sr., graduated in 1977. Tarlo’s father, Ken Tarlo, is a 1975 graduate of Cheltenham High.

According to local historian Chuck Langerman, Tarlo and Sharkey were teammates on the 1974 Panther football team which finished with an 8-3 record.
