Cheltenham grad wins five Keystone Media Awards for 2023 journalism

Kenny Cooper, a 2016 Cheltenham High graduate and a WHYY News reporter and fill-in host, won four first place awards and one second place award in the Keystone Media Awards contest for his work in 2023.

Cooper took first in the following categories: Best Investigative Reporting, Best Enterprise Reporting, Best Reporter/Anchor for FM reporting and podcasting, and Best Podcast. He took second in the Best Series category.

In April, Cooper published a feature article about the 60th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King’s speech at Cheltenham High School. He was named to Current’s 2024 class of public media “Rising Stars” in August.
