Cheltenham African American Alliance to host 5th annual Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom Festival on June 19

The Cheltenham African American Alliance (CAAA) is hosting the fifth annual Juneteenth Celebration of Freedom Festival on Friday from 10:00am – 4:00pm at Cheltenham High School.

The event will feature food and dessert trucks, local vendors, a game truck, face painters, stilt walkers, moon bounces, and more.

Ikysha of CAAA provided the following statement to Glenside Local:

This year marks our fifth anniversary, and it is incredible to look back and see how much the Juneteenth Festival has grown. Every single year, we see a beautiful rise in attendance, enjoyment, and a true sense of unity. This event is deeply rooted in positivity, liberation, and strength, and we hope that the immense hard work and passion that goes into planning this special day is felt by everyone who walks through the gates.

And as always, we are grateful to partner with the district. This collaboration—much like others we are fortunate to experience in our schools—ensures that families of all backgrounds feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued through cultural celebration. At its core, this special day is about honoring history while building a stronger, more connected community for the future.
