Burglaries on Hampton Road in Abington

Two burglary attempts were made within two days on Hampton Road in Abington. The first occured on September 29, at 12:55 a.m in the 1400 block of Hampton Rd. when four masked suspects entered the home through an unlocked door. At least one of the suspects was armed with a handgun.

The suspects stole a watch, a purse containing cash and credit cards, and the victim’s cell phones, before fleeing the scene. No one was injured in the incident. Both cell phones were later recovered, one on Valley Road and the other on Rydal Road.

October 1, an attempted burglary was reported in the 1500 block of Hampton Road. The suspects smashed a glass window pane in an attempt to enter the home. The suspects cut themselves during the attempt and did not get into the home. Abington Police reported the burglary and attempted burglary both occurred around the same time.

Detectives are working the case and following all leads. Any suspicious activity should be reported to 9-1-1. Extra patrol vehicles will be in the area.
