Demolition for four properties on the corner of Old York and Susquehanna Roads (1100, 1102, 1104, and 1106) began Monday, April 14.
Abington Township recently acknowledged that the demolition project is underway, and provided information on local roadways that continue during the project.
From the Township’s Facebook post:
Demolition of 1100, 1102, 1104, and 1106 Old York Road has begun. During the demolition project, the right southbound lane of Old York Road will be closed directly in front of the buildings being demolished, and the sidewalks surrounding the buildings will be closed. Specifically, signage and traffic cones will be used north of the restriction point to merge all southbound traffic into the left southbound lane. The intersection itself will remain open, and right turns from southbound Old York onto westbound Susquehanna will still be allowed from the remaining southbound lane of 611. Additional measures including signage and law enforcement will be taken to reduce the impact of traffic on local roadways.
