Jonathan Gerhard, RJ Jones, Kenny Lawyer, Edward O’Brien, David Phillips, and Xavier Watson-Greene, Abington Senior High School students and local firefighters with the Abington Fire Company, were shown appreciation on behalf of Mrs. Kristina Davis, the high school’s registrar, and her husband, Jamie Davis, who works at the middle school.

Mrs. Davis said that each student risked their safety to save the Davis home from catching fire during the SPS Technologies incident, according to the district.

In related news, the Highland Restaurant & Bar in Jenkintown was thanked by the Abington Township Police Department for providing meals, facilities, and a warm place for first responders and emergency personnel during the incident.

“It was truly remarkable how generous and accommodating the owners were to our first responders and leaders who were working tirelessly to coordinate the entire response,” the department said in a post. “Their kindness and support made a world of difference during such a challenging time.”
