The Abington Township Police Department is welcoming officers Justin Colon, Michael Crescenzo, Samantha Landis, Ethan Medina, Tara Pepe and Patrick Dorsey, each of whom recently completed a six-month training program at the Montgomery County Police Academy.
Officer Landis was selected as the class valedictorian, and Officer Colon won the physical fitness award. Officer Dorsey brings nine years of law enforcement experience from the Solebury Township Police Department.
The officers will begin their in-house training and work side by side with their field training officers to prepare them for solo patrol duties in the township, the department said.

“Please join us in congratulating our newest officers as they embark on this exciting new chapter in their careers. We wish them a journey filled with safety, success, and fulfillment as they contribute to the betterment of our community through their work with the Abington Township Police Department,” the department said in a post. “We would also like to extend a huge thank you to our Abington Community for your continued support.”
In related news, Edward Thome, Executive Director of the Lynnewood Hall Preservation Foundation Inc., recently donated $1,000 to the Cheltenham Fire Company for their Cheltenham Flag Replacement Program.
“We are incredibly grateful for their support in helping us continue this proud tradition of displaying American flags throughout Cheltenham on Central, Ryers, and Ashbourne Roads,” the company said in a post.
