Abington PD, Fire Companies Respond to House Fire, Accident, Injuries Reported

On May 21 at approximately 3:00 PM, the Abington Township Police Department along with the Edge Hill, Roslyn, Weldon, Abington, and McKinley Fire Companies responded to a report of a house fire at 725 Hamel Avenue located in the Ardsley.

Inside the home was a 32-year-old male, a juvenile male and an infant. All three were taken to Abington Jefferson Health for treatment.

The house sustained heavy smoke damage throughout. The cause of the fire is under investigation by The Abington Township Fire Marshal’s Office.

While responding to the fire a member of the Edge Hill Fire Company and an Abington Township Police Officer collided on Hamel Avenue at Woodrow Avenue. Both individuals were transported to Abington Jefferson Health and are being treated for minor injuries.
