A proposed zoning variance for more car storage will likely be on the agenda or brought up by concerned citizens at this Wednesday’s BZR meeting. This proposed ordinance specifically targets the “Gateway District”, or the area at the intersection of Washington Lane and York Road.
The Borough is considering an ordinance to protect the borough from potential exclusionary zoning challenges brought on by not listing automobile storage as a permitted use. Some residents have questioned whether such a small municipality needs to accommodate every possible land use.
This is the question that some residents, especially those that live near the Gateway district, have said they would like to ask Council. If this is a concern of yours, this would be the time and place make yourself heard.
The Building, Zoning, and Redevelopment Committee meets at Jenkintown Borough Hall, 700 Summit Avenue at 7:30 P.M., Wednesday, February 20.
