Niche, a Pittsburgh-based firm which provides in-depth metrics of schools and neighborhoods, has released its rankings of 66 school districts in the Philadelphia area for the 2026-2027 school year.

Among school districts in greater Glenside, Upper Dublin School Districts ranks #15 in the Philadelphia area, Lower Moreland ranks #22, Springfield Township ranks #25, Abington School District ranks #29, Jenkintown ranks #33, Cheltenham ranks #36, and Upper Moreland Township ranks #49.

Niche explained its criteria for establishing the rankings as follows:

The 2027 Best School Districts ranking is based on rigorous analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, teacher quality, public school district ratings, and more. SAT/ACT scores have been removed from this year’s rankings to reflect a general de-emphasis on test scores in the college admissions process.
