Alessandro Reale, a Glenside resident and 2007 graduate of Abington Senior High School, is hosting a book signing at Capricorn Books in Jenkintown on Sunday, September 13, from 12:00pm to 3:00pm.

Reale has self-published 13 books over the past decade, ranging from young adult fantasy novels to young children’s stories, including Anxious Alex and the Worry Monster. Reale’s works revolve around a variety of topics with a strong focus on mental health.

“I’ve struggled with anxiety since I was a kid,” Reale said, “but we didn’t realize that it was anxiety at the time. Not only did we not really understand mental health, but there was also a stigma around discussing it. There’s still a bit of a stigma nowadays, and many people are still unfamiliar with anxiety and other mental health topics, but I’m hoping my books can help shed some light on it.”
