A new restaurant called Brown Ginger may be coming to The Shops Village Center (2651 Huntingdon Pike) in Huntingdon Valley.
In April, Lower Moreland Township received an Occupancy Certificate application for a restaurant called Andhra 2 America Indian Cuisine at that location. Ownership told Glenside Local at the time that they were waiting on the last of their permits before announcing an opening date.
Earlier this month, ownership contacted us to say that their plans had changed and that Andhra 2 America Indian Cuisine is no more. Additional details were not provided.
Lower Moreland officials told us on Thursday that the owners are currently displaying a temporary sign for Brown Ginger as they need the Historical Architectural Review Board’s approval for a new sign.
Other inspections are still pending, officials said.
An Indian-style restaurant called Babari Cuisine opened at the shopping center last year. It was formerly occupied by Everest Indian Restaurant.
We will be in touch as we learn more.
