Chanukah Celebration At Beth Tikvah B’nai Jeshurun

Beth Tikvah B’nai Jeshurun will be holding a Chanukah Celebration on Sunday.  The event will be held from 10:15 AM to 11:15 AM at the synagogue located at 1001 Paper Mill Road in Erdenheim.

You’ll be able to view the “menorot that [graces] the sides of our Aron Kodesh, our holy Ark,” according to a statement from the synagoge.  “The design is a variation of his Shin design menorah.  The letter “shin” stands for the acronym ‘Shomer Delatot Yisrael – Guardian of the Doors of the Community of Israel’. ”

Artist David Klass envisioned and built the menorat.

“Fashioned out of beaten and melted brass over copper, the formidable menorot take on a life of their own as the curvaceous nature of their design suggests a flow of poetry in motion as this ancient symbol takes on modern significance,” the statement continued.  “The menorot connect us to both ancient and modern Israel and to the spirituality of the Hebrew language. They are both protective and inspiring.  Our new menorot are a welcome addition to the BTBJ bima and sanctuary.”
