Van’s Lock Shop, a family-owned business located at 2767 Jenkintown Road in the Glenside section of Abington Township, celebrated their 80th anniversary on Thursday, October 23.
The shop sent Glenside Local the following summary of the celebration:
Thank you all for celebrating with us for Van’s 80th anniversary party. It was a huge success. It brought together family, friends, past and present employees, customers and distributors throughout the day. Everyone was able to go through the interactive showcase bus sponsored by Assa Aboly and check out all the newest lock hardware hitting the market. Food was provided by our neighbors Joe’s Meat Market and Little Italy Pizza. It was a time for employees to relax, eat and enjoy the day, and for us to thank not only them but our customers as well. We connected with our customers and distributors on a higher level that day. It was fun to tell stories and laugh and see how far we have come. We also are placing emphasis on the future and showcasing how the industry is evolving and how we are also evolving to keep up with all security needs.

“I have been a part of this business basically my whole adult life. Everyone here is family to me and I’m excited to help bring this company forward into the next 80 years,” Matt Freeman, director of operations, said.
