Cheltenham Township Commissioner Matt Areman shared a recent notice from the owner of the Dunkin Donuts at 230 S. Easton Road in Glenside regarding a redevelopment of the property.
According to the notice, the township will receive a proposal for the demolition of the existing building and the construction of “a new, smaller, 1,980 sf +/- Dunkin Donuts building with drive-through; together with redesigned driveway access, increased green areas, the addition of outdoor seating along Easton Road and other related improvements.”
The Dunkin located at 8250 Ogontz Avenue similarly downsized in spring 2023. Henry Sekawungu, the township’s Director of Planning and Zoning, said at the time that the goals of a smaller footprint include efficiency and a maximization of density.
Ownership is seeking community input at two public information sessions on Monday, August 4 and Thursday, August 14 at 7:00pm at the property.
The township’s Planning Commission, Building & Zoning Committee, and Zoning Hearing Board will also hold meetings following the submission of an application, the notice said.
