Abington Township Police Chief Patrick Molloy was sworn in as the President of the Police Chiefs Association of Montgomery County, the department announced today.
“A special thank you to Judge Garret Page for attending and swearing in the executive board,” the department said in a post. “We would also like to extend our congratulations and gratitude to the entire executive board for their dedication and commitment to the Association and the men and women who serve in this most noble profession. We are incredibly proud of this achievement and look forward to the positive impact it will have on the community.”
In related news, Officer Alison Gontowski has been promoted to Detective of Abington’s Special Victims Unit.

Detective Gontowski has been an integral part of Abington since 2014 and has made an incredible impact on our community. A proud veteran of the United States Coast Guard Reserves, Alison has shown unwavering dedication to service, leadership, and her community here in Abington.
Throughout her distinguished career, Alison has made significant contributions in numerous roles, including as a DARE Officer, Crisis Negotiator, Honor Guard member, and Community Policing Officer. Her passion for working through the HUB and Bridge programs, with a special focus on mental health, has been especially remarkable. In her community policing efforts, Alison has helped strengthen bonds within our community and provided vital support to those in need.
We are incredibly proud of you, Detective Gontowski! Your dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving the Abington community have set an inspiring example. We are excited to see the continued positive impact you will make in this new chapter of your career.
