The Abington Township Police Department announced today the arrest of David Lyons, an Abington resident, for multiple charges including Felony Sexual Abuse of Children, Invasion of Privacy, and Producing Obscene and Other Sexual Materials.
According to their report, Lyons was first arrested by the Beach Haven Police Department (New Jersey) for recording a family member showering outdoors on July 21, 2024. An investigation uncovered evidence that led officials to believe that Lyons had also recorded individuals at a residence in the 2200 block of Menlo Avenue in Abington Township.
A follow-up investigation by Abington’s Special Victims Unit confirmed that Lyons had recorded a juvenile victim and an adult victim in various stages of undress in a bathroom on different occasions at that address.
A warrant was issued for his arrest. On Wednesday, March 26, Lyons turned himself in and was arraigned. He paid $10,000 bail and was released, police said.
If anyone has any additional information regarding this investigation or believes that they may have also been a victim of Lyons, you are asked to contact Detective Cindy Pettinato at (267)536-1198 or cpettinato@abingtonpa.gov.
