The Abington Township Police Department is welcoming new officer Malik Williams to its staff.
A graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote and a Mt. Airy native, Officer Williams served three years as a SEPTA Transit Police Officer and six years as a Philadelphia Police Officer before coming the township.
“Malik’s commitment to public safety and helping others was demonstrated in 2018 when he was recognized for saving the life of a suicidal 20-year-old woman while serving with SEPTA Transit Police,” the department said in a post. “This remarkable act highlights not only his dedication to public safety but also his compassion for those in crisis.”
