Lower Moreland Township in early planning stages for defunct bank property, purchaser developing concepts for review

Lower Moreland Township received an application to develop 3993 Huntingdon Pike, a former bank building in Huntingdon Valley.

According to township manager Chris Hoffman, Philly-based Hightop Real Estate & Development LLC purchased several holdings of that bank entity.

“They’re trying to figure out something new and creative for that site. Converting the building into offices isn’t particularly attractive, so the purchaser is taking a look at other concepts that might be agreeable to a land development concept,” Hoffman told Glenside Local, noting that no official proposal has been submitted.

An initial sketch plan presented to the township called for a retail space and a fast-food restaurant. A follow up concept involved the development of roughly 40 stacked townhouses. Neither were viewed favorably, Hoffman said.
