Bradley Cooper’s new Philly cheesesteak shop now open in NYC, discusses new film ‘Sing Sing’ with Philly native Colman Domingo

Jenkintown/Abington native Bradley Cooper’s new Philly cheesesteak shop, dubbed Danny and Coop’s Cheesesteak, is officially open for business in New York City, Eater.com reported today.

The shop opened earlier than its anticipated 2025 debut and is located at 151 Avenue A at East 10th Street.

In December 2023, Cooper announced his partnership with Danny DiGiampietro, owner of Angelos Pizzeria South Philly on S. 9th street. People reported that DiGiampietro’s family is mostly running the operation which includes foot-long sandwiches with Cooper sharp and onions. 

In related news, Cooper joined West Philly native Colman Domingo on Monday, December 16 at Lincoln Center’s Francesca Beale Theater for a conversation following a screening of Sing Sing.

In the film, Domingo plays Divine G, an incarcerated playwright and actor who starts a theater program in Ossining, N.Y.’s Sing Sing Correctional Facility.

The conversation focused on Cooper’s favorite scenes from the film.

“My mother is from South Philly, 4 foot, 8 inches, hard as s—. She couldn’t move after watching the film,” Cooper said about his mother, Gloria Campano.
