Annual Senior Fair in Elkins Park

The sixth annual Senior Fair  hosted by Representative Steve McCarter (D-154) is  Thursday, August 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on at Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel, 8339 Old York Rd. in Elkins Park. The fair has a number of private and government resources to help seniors.

Nearly 100 exhibitors,  including representatives from federal, state, county and local agencies, as well as a variety of non-government exhibitors have attended in the past offering information on health care, volunteer opportunities, prescription-drug plans, identity theft, unclaimed property and  more.

SEPTA will be taking photos for their new SEPTA Key Senior Photo ID cards, required for seniors age 65 and older to ride free on SEPTA buses, trolleys, subways and reduced regional rail. The County Recorder of Deeds office will take photos and supply veterans with Veterans’ Photo ID Discount Cards, which allow honorably discharged vets living in Montgomery County to receive discounts at nearly 500 county-wide establishments.

RSVP to give organizers an idea of how many quests to expect.
