The Cheltenham Township Police Department saw the swearing in of Sergeants Vincent Hall, Adam Heath, and Jason Brennan during the Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting on Wednesday, April 17,
Chief John Slavin provided remarks on each Sergeant’s records of service, starting about minute 8:40 of the video below:

Vincent Hall
Officer Vincent Hall joined the Cheltenham Township Police Department in 2019 after serving with the Philadelphia Police Department for five years. He grew up nearby in Northeast Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Central High School and joined the PA Army National Guard where he served eight years as a Combat Medic. Vince has volunteered with the Cheltenham Township Fire Department, Station 4; Cheltenham Township Auxiliary Police; and the Philadelphia Police Explorers Program. He has served on the Homeland Security Major Incident Response Team as a Medic, Northwest Gun Violence Task Force, and currently serves as a CPR & First Aid Instructor and Field Training Officer. His most notable arrest was the 2021 robbery at Rite Aid, Broad & Cheltenham, on Thanksgiving Day and he was awarded the Combat Ribbon for confronting and subduing the robbery suspect, who was in fact armed with a loaded firearm.
Adam Heath
Officer Adam Heath is a 2010 Cheltenham High School graduate as well as a 2013 graduate of West Chester University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. He has been a Cheltenham Township Police Officer for eight and a half years. Prior to serving in Cheltenham, he was a police officer in Newark, DE for one year. His career thus far has been dedicated to the patrol division. In addition to his normal patrol duties, Adam is a Crime Scene Technician, Drug Task Force member, and Field Training Officer. He has attended numerous training courses on topics including crisis intervention, de-escalation, interview and interrogation, crash investigations, and drug investigations. Adam has also received several commendations including a Merit Citation for actions leading to the arrest of a serial burglar, a Unit Citation for the resolution of a mentally unstable armed subject incident, and a Special Unit Citation for performance as a department during periods of civil unrest. He has also received two letters of recognition from an outside agency for actions contributing to the apprehension of suspects and recovery of evidence during an armed robbery and a carjacking investigation.
Jason Brennan
Officer Jason Brennan joined the Cheltenham Township Police Department in June 2003. As a Patrol Officer of over 20 years, Jason has taken on additional responsibilities as a certified instructor in Firearms, Defensive Tactics/Use of Force, De-escalation, Taser, and Active Shooter. Jason is also one of CTPD’s Field Training Officers and has prepared five officers for patrol. Jason has received several commendations, including one for his assistance in resolving a robbery/hostage situation at the Old Country Buffet. Jason at the time was working in the operations room when he received a 911 call from an employee inside the restaurant. While keeping the employee calm, he maintained a direct line of communication, relaying vital information to officers, SWAT, and Crisis Negotiators on scene. The situation came to a successful end with the rescue of the hostages and arrest of the two actors.
