Dorothy ‘Dottie’ Montgomery, beloved O’Neills employee, has passed away

Dorothy “Dottie” C. Montgomery, a longtime O’Neills Food Market employee and a resident of Roslyn and Hatboro, died on March 23 at the age of 85.

Mrs. Montgomery worked at O’Neill’s for 13 years and she was a member of Light House Fellowship United Methodist Church in Glenside, her obituary said.

From O’Neill’s Facebook post:

We are saddened to share that our dear friend Dotti, who many of you will remember from her years serving you from the first register of the store, has passed away. Dotti was a gracious, loving colleague and friend. She took an interest in what everyone had to say, and in what was happening in the lives of each of us and our families. This would continue in the years following her retirement, as she would ask about the friends she made at O’Neill’s and would be thrilled to run into a former customer. It was an honor to work with her throughout her tenure at the store, and we were lucky to know her as one of our own and know many of you share the same sentiment.

The announcement has brought forth more than 100 condolences from area residents:

So sorry to hear this!! Sending love and prayers to Dottie’s family. She was a staple at O’Neills and will never be forgotten

We have very fond memories of Dottie. May she rest in peace and our condolences to all her O’Neill’s “family”.

So sad to hear this. Dotti was always so kind and thoughtful. Thinking of her family and friends during this time. May she rest in peace.
