Elkins Park Skywatchers will host Gregory Leonard (pictured above middle), a senior research specialist at the University of Arizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory, on Friday, November 6 from 6:30pm – 9:00pm at Cheshire Brewing Co.

Registration is required. Skywatchers members are also invited to a special meet-and-greet with Leonard at 5:00pm. More details here.

Leonard paid Elkins Park Skywatchers Club a surprise visit in December 2025. You can read Glenside Local’s coverage here.

From the evening’s description:

Discover the fascinating world of near-Earth asteroids, comets, and how astronomers search the skies for objects traveling through our solar system! OBSERVATION NIGHT TO FOLLOW!

After the presentation, join our Skywatchers for telescope observations and explore the night sky together, weather permitting!
Your $5 admission helps support Elkins Park Skywatchers, our educational programs, equipment, and future community astronomy events.

From our little town to the universe, we’re bringing the wonders of space closer to home!
Everyone is welcome to attend the presentation! The earlier meet & greet is exclusively for club members.
