The Halal Guys, a casual restaurant franchise, opened a location at 4001 Welsh Road in Willow Grove on Saturday, December 9.

They specialize in American halal platters, sandwiches, hummus, falafel, baklava, and craft drinks. According to the restaurant, their most popular platter is the “Combo – Chicken and Gyro”.

Lamb, gyro, beef, and chicken, and vegetarian options are available as well.

This is their sixth location in the Philadelphia area. The franchise began as halal carts in Manhattan, New York City.

“Halal” is Arabic for permissible, and the term is often associated with Islamic dietary laws, especially meat processed and prepared in accordance with certain requirements. You can read more about it in Fine Dining Lovers and the American Halal Foundation, among other sources.

Friday – Saturday: 10:30am – 11:00pm
