Jefferson Abington has been ranked Pennsylvania’s 17th best hospital, 8th best in the Philly region, by U.S. News & World Report.

The hospital is considered “High Performing” in 1 Adult Specialty (Colon Cancer Surgery) and in 9 Procedures/Conditions.

U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 hospitals across 15 specialties and 21 procedures and conditions. Hospitals awarded a “best” designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, quality of nursing care and patient experience.

The ranking comes on the heels of Jefferson Health’s decision to lay off 400 positions after operating at a loss for the last four years. Jefferson Abington earned an “A” grade from the healthcare watchdog Leapfrog Group’s Spring 2023 report card in May.
