Help name a creek/stream in Cheltenham: Survey

Cheltenham Township recently announced that it needs residents’ help in naming more than a dozen creeks and streams in the area.

If you have an unnamed waterway which runs through your community, you can complete the relevant section of this public survey. The survey will be open through the end of April.

From the Township’s announcement:

The survey guides participants through each stream’s location and relevant history, including detailing the reasons behind proposed names for those that were discussed in prior years. You do not have to provide suggested names for every stream, just proceed to click through to the relevant stream sections, and remember to click all the way through to the final ‘submit’ button. Note that there are restrictions on names—streams cannot be named for someone who is still alive, and any proposed names should represent history or a geological feature of the community through which the creek flows. Valid names will be considered by the Township and brought up in a public forum before formal submission of all names to the US Geological Survey.
