PECO to Upgrade Electric Service for Cheltenham Residents

Work Will Commence in Late June of 2019

PECO announced beginning in June 2019, it will be working in Cheltenham Township to install “advanced equipment and enhance the local electric distribution system.”

This project is designed to improve service reliability for customers in Cheltenham Township. Work will be performed by a qualified PECO contractor from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the project is expected to be completed by the middle of 2020. 

Part of of the work involves upgrading and installing new equipment to enhance the local electric distribution system in the area.

In case you consider yourself a conspiracy theorist, PECO invites you to an open house on June 17, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Elkins Park Elementary School, located at 8149 New Second Street, Elkins Park to discuss how this project will improve electric service in your neighborhood.

During this open house residents  can meet with the PECO project team and ask questions. There is no formal presentation, so arrive anytime between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
